Alex Beaton

I just found out that Scottish singer Alex Beaton is in the hospital, recovering from a serious spinal-cord injury sustained earlier this month.  Look here for details.

I heard him perform at the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games last year, and fell in love with his music immediately. <g> I have two CDs of his songs, and listen to them frequently. I was so sorry to hear this news today.

I have always imagined that Roger's voice before the hanging sounded something like Alex Beaton's.  I don't know if Diana had him in mind as a model for Roger's singing voice or not, but it doesn't matter.  His will always be the voice I hear in my head when I think of Roger singing.
