  • 9.61% - Cautiously optimistic.
  • 6.76% - I'd like to watch it, but STARZ isn't available where I live.
  • 6.39% - I can't afford to pay for a STARZ subscription.
  • 6.32% - I'm looking forward to seeing who will play Jamie, Claire, and the rest.
  • 6.08% - I'm worried that they will change the story or the characters.
  • 2.91% - I will wait for the DVDs.

  • 1.05% - What OUTLANDER TV series? I haven't heard anything about it.
  • 0.87% - I'm not interested in an OUTLANDER TV series.
  • 0.31% - I'll probably watch at least part of it.
  • 4.22% - Other
There were a total of 1613 responses to this poll, which makes it by far the most successful poll I've ever done!  I didn't vote in the poll myself, but I would have chosen the first option.  I'm getting more excited about the TV series as time goes on and we learn more.

There were 68 responses for "Other".  I won't list them all here, but these are some of my favorites:
  • Counting down the days and planning a premier party!
  • YEE MOTHER FRICKEN HAW!  Excited just doesn't cut it!
  • it's about time
  • I'll wait for it to be released on Amazon or Netflix.
  • Just looking forward to enjoying it for what it is. Books are still #1 for me.
  • I don't have a TV.  I might get the DVDs and watch them on the computer.
  • my worries about this are SO many. IF they get it right, it will be very cool.
  • Can't wait to see Sam Heughan!
  • I'm trusting the film makers to do it justice.
Many people who live outside the US said they were very excited, but STARZ isn't available where they live.  I really hope the series will be available outside the US (and I've been assured by Robyn Harney, a publicist for Sony Pictures TV, that they do intend to distribute the OUTLANDER series in other countries) but I have no information yet on how that will work.

Some of you said that you wanted to choose more than one answer.  Sorry, but that's a personal bias of mine.  I don't like polls that allow multiple selections per person, so none of the polls I run on my blog allow that.

Many thanks to all of you who participated! I'm really pleased with the way this poll turned out.

Please take a moment to vote in the August poll, which is all about visiting Scotland.

Until now I have managed live without Comcast, with the coming of OUTLANDER on STARZ, I will have to relent and get cable.

Yeppers, I took that plunge 3 weeks ago. Even added TiVo just in case some random act of chaos/mayhem forces me to miss an episode. My motto:
"Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it"

Hi, Karen!
Please bear with me (if this comment is(doubtful)rec'd.
I've tried several times to comment but, Frankly (no pun intended hee, hee) I am WAY more comfortable in front of my sewing machine or in charge of a hot glue gun than any damnable computer! I first got hooked on the Outlander series after hearing my late mother in law and sister in law talking about the books. My (ex)SIL, gave me a brief synopsis of the 1st three books. Thankfully, she told me 'just enough' w/out too many spoilers. I then asked my MIL about the books. She (petite, red-haired Scotswoman that she was) proceeded to tell me that she was reading the books, but alas, (her words) "Had to put them down and read other "fluff" and come back as able. She said to me that they made her homesick for Scotland. Yes. You heard correctly. The Outlander books made a Scottish "war bride" circa 1958 HOMESICK! Needless to say, I RAN to the nearest bookstore and bought all available books-3 Outlander, Dragonfly In Amber and Voyager were in print at that time. Have been positively addicted ever since. There. FINALLY got to confess(?) lol events that started this hunger for more of Jamie/Claire.!! Yippee!
I have spent the time between absurdly huge novels reading Lord John books, Outlandsh Companion and (lately) Trail of Fire, Tales of Love, etc. Also, re-reading the "big books". Am currently on ECHO. Somehow, I missed the details of William's fever dreams (when he meets Ian in the great dismal). The skulls with rainbow colored eyed and (yikes) teeth. Have I missed you or DG mentioning this connection? While Ransome is Jamie's, son, how is he so in touch with the Indian afterlife/crossover? Also, have you highlighted the wooden stethoscope Claire uses (Jamie made it for her) to listen to captain Stebbings' heart/lungs in ECHO? I may have missed it as I have children to raise (damned inconvinient when there are such books to be read!) ROFL! Sincere thanks for your dedication to your fellow Outlander fans! Your Outlandish Observations are the highlight of my Friday mornings.
